Our Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) system is based on two core technologies: the Optical Time Domain Reflectometry (OTDR) principle and the Raman scattering temperature effect. Together, they enable accurate, real-time temperature measurement along the entire length of a standard optical fiber.

KEY WORKING PRINCIPLES
- OTDR-Based Spatial Localization
The system utilizes a laser source (typically at 905 nm) to inject light pulses into the optical fiber. While most of the light continues forward and attenuates over distance, a small portion is scattered and reflected back. By analyzing the time delay and intensity of this backscattered signal using OTDR techniques, the system precisely determines the spatial position of temperature events along the fiber. - Raman Scattering and Temperature Measurement
Within the backscattered light, a specific component—Raman scattering—is highly sensitive to temperature changes. The system applies advanced Digital Signal Processing (DSP) to isolate the Raman signals from other components and accurately interpret them as temperature values. This process results in a continuous, high-resolution temperature profile of the entire sensing fiber.
